As of 8:37 am CDT, the Canadian dollar was at US$0.7254 or US$1=C$1.3785, compared to Tuesday’s close of US$0.7255 or US$1=C$1.37884.
The United States Dollar Index shed 0.142 of a point at 98.385.
Crude oil
Crude oil prices were stronger on Wednesday morning, as the U.S.-Iran war escalated.
West Texas Intermediate climbed US$2.67 at US$95.70 per barrel.
Brent crude advanced US$2.75 at US$100.67/barrel, surpassing the US$100-mark for the first time in about six weeks.
Financial markets
The TSX/S&P Composite Index gave up 87.17 points on Wednesday morning at 36,035.88. Gold was up US$34.50 at US$4,473.50 per ounce.
